Andy Horner made a determined bid for a third Clarion Hill climb championship but his current form was no match for determined 17 year old Peter Foster who finished with a six second advantage. Jayne Clarke was again the fastest lady but on a day of a strong headwind she was 13 seconds adrift the ladies record that she holds. Those at the bottom of the table always deserve recognition for without them where would our sport be. Records were set up by Donald Lever on a folding bike and collector of veteran cycles Merlin Evans, who rode his 1935 roadster with rod brakes and westwood rims. Grandmother Christine Duckworth rode gamely to complete the nice mix of serious and fun riders that support this event. I have now run this event for the last 8 years and this is the best entry during this time. Thanks to Keith Lightfoot for timing, Merlin Evans for pushing off and Jean Lever for posting times to the result board.
