Dear All Calder Clarion Members

I have received this from Sandy at the Wakefield district cycle forum. It would be great if we could get
involved. We have a few months to organise ourselves..

thanks
Andrew

Andrew
I am writing on behalf of the Wakefield District Cycle Forum which is now, as you may know, an independent,
voluntary organisation whose aims are to promote and campaign for better cycling infrastructure in the
Wakefield District. As part of our programme of events this year we have acquire the ground of Nostell
Priory to run a sort of 'festival' of cycling on the last weekend of Bike Week, 20th and 21st June.

The events over the weekend will include information stalls, a cycle obstacle course, guided cycle rides
and taster sessions. We are hoping to have a selection of different sorts of cycling including cyclo-cross
and biathlon events.

Would the Calder Clarion be interested in running any event over the weekend and having a presence at the
information stalls? We would be able to help you I am sure and it would be good to have all of the cycling
organisations in the District present at some point during the weekend. We hope that this event will help to
introduce a whole new group of people to cycling. I am sure you would agree that it is a great opportunity to
have such a prestigious venue to promote cycling and I hope you can be part of this celebration of cycling.

Look forward to hearing from you. Hope you are well. We miss your presence at WDMC.

Keep smiling
Sandy Clark
